No love lost, as I’d go on to see them live countless more times, but I guess the days of eagerly anticipating new music from them were over.

Pretty straight forward, meat and potatoes, which typically I’d be all about, but for whatever reason, it just didn’t click with me. Musically it was okay, and Weiland’s voice and melodies were good, but lyrically nothing stood out to me like the previous albums. The album artwork is something I could literally create in a couple minutes tops, and in a way encapsulates my overall feeling of the record. Talk Show and 12 Bar Blues perhaps should have been early indicators, as neither did much for me, though 12BB has it’s moments.
Maybe it was inevitable coming off such a high point in Tiny Music.Ĭrazy how long a 3 year wait seems, being 15 when Tiny Music was released, and 18 by the time No.
This one was a disappointment for me upon it’s release.
